LEEK HIGH AND ITS COMMUNITY

Leek High and its CommunityLeek High is the high school in one of Staffordshire’s first three trail blazing extended school clusters. In 2005 the established good work at Leek High was recognised by Staffordshire and the government in awarding “full service extended school” status and supporting the next phase of development.

Leek High is proud of its work with the community in East Leek and the Moorlands and is at the forefront of schools nationally for the range and quality of support available for students and their parents. All of this contributes towards the excellent “value added” achieved by all Leek High students, whatever their individual aptitudes or talents.

 

Extended School facilities include:

  • “One-stop shop” (Room 21) in school for students and parents to have easy access to a wide range of support services, including those offered by agencies outside the school.
  • Study Support available after school and during the school holidays.
  • Excellent ICT facilities in school and remote access from home.
  • Exceptional sports facilities and activities, indoor and outrdoor.
  • Support for parents to help them to give effective support to their children at school, including special events for parents and outreach parents’ evenings.
  • Very good, and growing, range of music and performing arts opportunities for students.
  • Catering includes – high quality, healthy snacks and meals at breakfast, break and lunchtime (and all day for sixth formers).
