In July 2004 Leek High achieved specialist technology status with Mathematics, Science and Design and Technology being our specialist subjects. Specialist status has resulted in many benefits for our students and the local community. These include the following:  - Additional teaching staff at Leek High Specialist Technology School and Churnet View Middle School
- A totally refurbished computer suite
- A trolley of wireless laptops for use around the school
- Data loggers for use in the science subjects
- Interactive Whiteboards or data projectors in every classroom
- Remote access to our computer network and virtual learning environment, allowing students and staff to access their work from anywhere in the world
- ICT support for our community of schools
- A wide range of e-learning resources particularly in our specialist subjects
- A Science Club
- Separate science GCSEs allowing students to study Biology, Chemistry and Physics
 - GCSE Statistics in addition to GCSE Mathematics
- Year 11 students studying AS level Mathematics modules
- Mathematics and Science links with local universities
- An annual exhibition showcasing our students’ excellent work and achievements and attended by our students, pupils from our local schools, parents and the community as a Whole
- AS and A level Food Technology
- A Young Engineers Club in which students work with engineering staff from Lafarge to develop their engineering skills
- Belle Engineering apprentices working with our AS and A level Design and Technology Students
- A new CAD/CAM area
With the additional funding that we receive each year new developments will continue to take place bringing new opportunities to our students, to pupils in out pyramid of schools and the local community.
